Bardock, sometimes spelled Burdock, is a Saiyan warrior from the Dragon Ball Z universe. He is Goku's father.
Bardock is a ruthless soldier in Frieza's army, leading a squad known for their successful conquests of various planets. However, he possesses a strong sense of camaraderie with his team and has a rebellious spirit.
He gains the ability to see into the future after surviving a Planet Meat attack, experiencing visions of Frieza's impending betrayal and the destruction of Planet Vegeta. His attempts to warn the Saiyans are unsuccessful.
Bardock's first appearance was in the 1990 TV special, Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku. He confronts Frieza in a final stand to protect his people and his newborn son, Goku, but is ultimately killed along with Planet Vegeta.
